Throwback To The 90s
Monice London was first launched in 1998 by designer Janice Akhtar alongside her best friend and fellow designer, Ramona. Having previously worked together in the fashion industry, they gained hands on experience across the entire garment making process, from conception to delivery, including design, pattern cutting and production.
Their shared passion was to create their own brand. Combining their names, Monice London evolved into a label known for statement clubwear and eveningwear, designed to stand out from the crowd.
The brand was sold in high street stores and boutiques across the UK and overseas, including a concession in the Topshop flagship store. Monice London became a brand to be seen in, worn by celebrities and featured in popular fashion magazines throughout the late 90s and early 00s.
However, after five successful years, they stepped into new chapters of their lives, raising families, and Monice London came to an end.
Fast Forward To 2023
Over the years, Janice maintained her passion for design and manufacturing while collaborating with various renowned fashion brands.
Her unwavering ambition to revive her own label finally became a reality in 2023, with the relaunch of Monice London 2.0.
Reimagined as a slow fashion brand, Monice London focuses on creating timeless investment pieces designed to be worn season after season. Each style is thoughtfully designed with intention and purpose, celebrating considered design rather than fast trends.
The collection is created to flatter and enhance the female silhouette, with a strong focus on bra friendly designs, especially the backless styles. Creating the brand’s signature back band that discreetly covers the bra strap, designed for women to wear a bra, whether for support or enhancement.
Luxurious eveningwear that radiates confidence and exudes understated elegance, Monice London is designed to make women feel empowered, confident and unstoppable.
